In April an East Kerry Board meeting, fortified by presence of the County Board Secretary, who presided, decided to play the Junior Football by knockout system. Six teams appeared to be likely to compete. Crokes were praised at their AGM - They may have won it.

In early Spring of 1940, on a snowy day, Rathmore and Keel were to play Junior Football Final at Milltown but only Rathmore put in an appearance. Later Rathmore were awarded title.

|
Spa defeated Dr. Crokes 3-04 to 1-01 in the East Kerry Junior Football Final played in Fitzgerald Stadium on 7th November. The same day O'Leary's and Flesk defeated Dr Crokes 3-03 to 1-05 in the E.K. Senior Final.
